Carre Otis

Carre OtisCarré Otis (born September 28, 1968 in San Francisco, California) is an American model and actress best known for her role as Emily Reed in Wild Orchid.
Carre began modeling at age 16 and was a top model from 1988-1992 (inferred by the year her career was launched by Euro Vogue and by the years she was in high demand in the fashion industry.) At 18, she was already a cocaine and heroin addict. She appeared on the covers and in a number of layouts in major fashion magazines, sometimes in sheer tops, topless or completely nude. She was on the covers of American Vogue September 1988, December 1988 (with Linda Evangelista), and March 1989. She was also on the covers of UK Vogue June 1989, July 1989, American Cosmopolitan June 1989, American Mirabella December 1989 and February 1995, Brazilian Marie Claire 1992, Yugoslavian Duga magazine April 1994, German GQ October 2001, New Woman September 1999, French Elle July 2004, American Harper’s Bazaar January 1990 & January 1992, and UK Harper’s Bazaar January 1990, just to name a few.Carre Otis naked
Carre appeared in ads for Guess jeans (1988), Calvin Klein jeans (”biker chick” look, 1991), appeared in the 1996 Pirelli calendar, and also posed for the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition (2000). Otis was also featured in 1990 and 2000 issues of Playboy magazine.
She was briefly a cause célèbre following the release of the movie Wild Orchid, due to rumors that she and co-star Mickey Rourke filmed an unsimulated sex scene. She married Rourke in 1992.Carre Otis naked They had a volatile marriage. Carre was a long-time heroin addict and Mickey helped her get off heroin for a while. Rourke was arrested for spousal abuse in 1994 and was banned from her fashion shows. The charges were later dropped. Carre said she tried to commit suicide three times prior to 1994 and was mixing everything-alcohol, downers, uppers, anti-depressants, heroin, and diet pills. They divorced in 1998. Otis said in 2001: “(we) had equally explosive personalities (and she had) her own depression. We were both drama addicts.”
After the divorce, Rourke’s life spiraled downwards. During a recent Barbara Walters interview special that aired after the 2009 Academy Awards, an emotional Rourke said that he loved Otis “to death,” she was “the right girl at the wrong time,” they were both “out-of-their minds,” and that he waited eight years after they divorced hoping that she would reunite with him. Rourke did not get his wish. Otis remarried in December 2005 to an environmental scientist. They have a daughter, Jade, born on November 11, 2006. Rourke told Barbara Walters that he still loves her in a way.
After Wild Orchid, her film career never took off, and her modelling career also stagnated as Otis struggled with her long-time anorexia, and attendant health issues, including heart seizures.
